The blissful happiness of a summer’s beach on the north Norfolk coast is shattered when a bomb detonates in the sand. Everyone assumes it is an unexploded shell from the war – but is it? Locals are peacefully demonstrating against the construction of a new pier—a multi-million pound project they say will harm the environment and jeopardize small businesses. Shaw, who lives on the beach where his family runs a café, soon finds himself immersed in the intrigues of a small community he thought he knew well. It soon becomes clear that a killer is at large who will stop at anything to prevent the new pier being built.
