The paperback of The White Lie – long-listed for this year’s Gold Dagger – was launched at Bodies in the Bookshop, Cambridge. The shop, on St Botolph’s Lane, specialises in crime thrillers of all ages, and comprises several small rooms, but it’s a bookshop with a big heart. It is the brainchild of Richard Reynolds – formerly of Heffers – and undoubtedly the best-known bookseller of crime in the country. This was their first event on the premises and it saw a fine turnout. I talked – briefly – about The White Lie. (I’m the one with the white hair) The audence comprised booksellers, publishers, literary agents, leaders in the arts, writers, writers-in-waiting, students, and fans of crime thrillers. Future events are now planned. Do check on Facebook if you are in ther area.
